We have been to the pool a few times already. Adelyn loves playing in the water but is still pretty fearful. She wants to stay very close and WILL NOT go under!! Baby steps....:)

Eva Watching Baby Einstein
I put the movie on just to see what she would do because she has started noticing the tv. She went crazy!!

Our sweet Eva Grace is now almost 3 months old!!
You are beautiful and you look so much like your sister but still have your own look. When you smile your cheeks get all squishy with a bigger dimple on your left cheek and your eyes get really squinty.:)
I can't believe you are reaching the 3 month mark. You have become much more alert these past couple of weeks. You are content lying on you're play mat in the mornings after you eat while we eat breakfast. You follow us around the room really well now. You LOVE watching Adelyn run around and dance.
You're still pretty much doing the eat, wake, sleep cycle. Sometimes you will almost stay awake during the whole cycle in the morning and then crash for a morning nap after you eat. I'm so ready for a schedule and to do a little sleep training for naps.
You are a spitter!!! We are trying our hardest to help you with reflux meds or to see if it's allergies and we have not been successful yet. (tried zantac, we've been on Prevacid for 1 week, no dairy for 1 week) You don't get super fussy when you eat like you used to but I still want to make sure you don't have an allergy.:(
You sleep petty well for naps. I had to stop letting you sleep in your green chair or on the boppy during the day because it was killing us at nighttime when we would lay you down on your mattress to sleep. Around 2 months we had to take away the wedge at night because you were moving around too much. At 2.5 months we started letting you sleep on your tummy because you were still so restless at night. I was very nervous about this but we prayed and trusted the Lord in this decision and you have been doing much better. You go to sleep around 9, wake up around 2 or 3 am, and then again around 5 or 6.
You aren't too excited about paci and have started sucking on your fist. The only time you will really use the paci is when you are in the car or when I have to rock you to sleep.
Notes I took on my phone to remember :) :
1st week: eating every 3 hrs, sometimes every 2 around dinner time. Sometimes around dinner you can be a little unsettled or fussy. We wake you to feed during the day. Napping downstairs in the packnplay. First few nights were typical newborn eating and trying to get settled. Nana stayed the first 3 nights. Kim stayed the next 3. We started keeping you in our room in the crib at the 4th night. Sleeping on the wedge. Right at one week started feeding only at around 9pm, 1:30, and 6am. Tonight you ate at 11 and I had to wake you up to eat at 4am. I am in awe of how well your doing at night. Big sister has been waking up a couple times at night and daddy has been getting up with her. She did well last night though.
You like to be held to fall asleep but once you are asleep we can lay you down and you sleep well.
You aren't to excited about a paci yet. We have tried all the kinds we have and you have a favorite but you only like to suck on it about 1/4 of the time. Maybe you'll be a finger sucker. You normally use the paci just in the car or when we rock you to sleep.
You smile in your sleep a lot! Yesterday morning you were looking right at me after I had fed you and I was talking to you and you did a couple half smiles. It was so sweet. Probably still reflex but I loved it.
2 weeks today! I spent the entire day alone for the first time with you and Adelyn. It was a good day. Late afternoon you started having a stuffy nose:(. So hard to watch. We started using saline drops on your nose and the humidifier in our room. You ate around 10:30 pm and just woke up at 3:30 am to eat. I wanted to let you sleep since you may be sick. I hate seeing you with a stuffy nose this young. Hopefully it does not get any worse. I looked back at adelyns blog at 1 month and it says she had already had a cold too.
You have been taking naps in your crib now during the day, either in your boppy or on the wedge.
We have gotten out a couple of times to go over to Nana and Papas. Also a couple of times to the park and you stay bundled in your stroller. I have been able to get out here and there with just Addie ( rhyme time, ballet, target, playground) while Mimi, Nana or Daddy have kept you at home.
Week 4&5 you started smiling some when people talk to you. You have been doing 1 4hour span starting at 8-9pm but then eat every 3 hours after that.
Thursday March 29... First errands our with the 2 girls. To best buy to get daddy's phone and to old navy to get shoes for Adelyn. Had to carry Eva in the sling, she still doesn't like the car seat to well. Eva slept the whole time in the sling!

Sisters
They are already becoming friends:
Adelyn will try to include Eva in everything we are doing (reading books, playing on the floor, coloring, dancing...).
Eva excitedly/nervously watches Adelyn dance and run around the room. Sometimes if she is being fussy, Adelyn will go over to her and talk to her before I can make it over and it calms her down.
I love watching their relationship already begin before Eva is even 3 months old.

Michael's is a dangerous place...
So I was totally humbled and infuriated all in the same moment a couple weeks ago. I wanted to get out of the house because we had been stuck at home for a while when sweet Adelyn had strep, so we decided to make a run to Michael's (right up the street from us). I strapped Eva into the baby bjorn (she's happiest there these days when we are shopping), get Adelyn out of the car and walk in. We grab a cart (Adelyn is walking not riding), and head straight over to the front of the store near the packaging section. I'm looking to my right with my hand loosely on the shopping cart when I feel it jerk out of my hand. I look to my left and the cart has flipped on it's side and Adelyn is underneath!! Half of the contents of my loaded diaper bag were also spread out on the floor.
She had tried to step up on the side of the cart like she does at the grocery store or BJs. Poor little girl didn't realize the carts here are smaller and much lighter.
I knelt down the best I could with out throwing Eva out of the bjorn to lift the cart off of her leg. She is screaming crying. I was able to get her to calm down and made sure nothing was broken. She stands up and I start gathering my things off the floor. By this time I begin to look around and would you believe NO ONE has come to help. There were at least 3 people standing near by that were just acting like nothing had just happened. I was shocked!!!! Adelyn was hanging on my leg, hurting and embarrassed I'm sure when I tried to lift the cart off the floor, still trying not to dump Eva out of the carrier. After a couple attempts, I couldn't pick it up on my own and not hurt Eva so I finally said very loudly, "hang on Adelyn, let me see is someone in here can help us!" A girl quickly/mysteriously appeared right behind me and said, "oh do you need some help?". Bahahaha, YES!
I was just shocked because I think if I saw a mom with and infant in a carrier and her toddler has just ended up under a shopping cart on the floor that I would RUN to help.
Anyways that's my rant about our crazy shopping experience. Thank goodness most of them aren't this memorable.

Adelyn's 2 year update! (at 2 1/2) :)

Stats from 2 Year check up: Length 36 1/4 inches 97%, Weight 32 lbs 95%, Head 19 1/2 97 %
Our sweet 2 year old girl,
As daddy and I watch you play and talk lately we have both said how we will miss this age greatly. You learn something new every single day. I feel like there isn't much that you couldn't be shown how to do or say. You make us laugh all of the time. There are times where you just make me melt and I can't take how much I love you.
You love:
Talking and pretending, you are constantly asking what something is, or why/how it works a certain way. You can sing your ABCs and count to about 15. You have learned 2 memory verses.
Dancing!!! Your favorite thing right now is to turn on the Disney music on pandora and just dance. You ask at the beginning of every song "what's this one, mama?" you normally want to put on a skirt to dance. You can now go up to your room on your own and will pick one out and put it on by yourself. You also always ask whoever is in the room to dance with you. You like to spin and work on your dance moves (like the plié). You started your ballet classes in January, thanks to Mema and Pops! You absolutely love it. You do so well following direction. I love watching you in the class. After every class we have a little tradition of going to get ice cream at McDonald's. We bring it home and you put sprinkles on it.
Singing, every night when we sing you sing along with us. You know most of the words, or make your own version of them. You like being silly and singing songs in different voices with me (like a baby, or a boy).
Dress up! You love to put on your dresses, crowns and ribbons and tell me which princess you are. Tangled is your favorite right now.
Taking pictures. Wether it's with my phone or camera you could take picture all day long (and you are really good at it too).
Helping in the kitchen. You love to help me bake/cook. I love when you help me!! You normally sit on the counter or stand in a chair.
Being outside, going on walks, playground, walking to get the mail in your wagon, blowing bubbles, playing with your water cart, or drawing with chalk.
Coloring, but you like painting and using scissors or glue better.
You always want mommy and daddy to tuck you in. If one of us reads to you and sings, because the other is now with Eva grace, you have us leave the door cracked and we will come in and kiss you goodnight. Before Eva Grace we always both put you to bed, so you have adjusted well. You love talking about the stars on your ceiling and singing twinkle twinkle. You like to play with the shadows on the wall. When we pray at night, you always ask to pray for family and friends individually and princesses of course. You always give lots of hugs and kisses and when we leave the room you blow kisses the whole time. We always go in and look at you at night when we go to bed. You are normally sleeping super hard with your mouth wide open and covers kicked off. We cover you up, give you a kiss then go to bed.
You started sleeping in your big girl bed in January. (you were in your crib/toddler style for a few months before that). You do really well without the bed rails, unlike we thought because you move around so much. When you wake up in the morning you still call out for us until we come in your room. :) you'll say, "mama, mama, daddy, daddy, tima get uuuup". :) when we go in you act all snuggly and normally tell us what you've been thinking about and then you ask for your milk and vitamin.
Painting your nails. You sit so well while watching a movie and I paint your nails and toenails. You typically request the sparkly color or pink.
You love to try to buckle your own car seat. You always want a snack and drink in the car.
You love movies. If there is a movie on... You WILL ask for popcorn.
You can open the refrigerator on your own now and will often ask for a juice box.
You still don't like getting dirty and like to keep things neat and clean at home for the most part.
Eating: you love snacking and you love sweets (something we have to keep minimal). Favorite food: grilled chicken. Sometimes you still need our help eating and we need to work on you using a big girl cup more often.
Sleep: You still take one good nap after lunch around 2ish. You sleep for 2-3 hours. At night you are in bed between 8-9 and sleep until 7am.
Today you said, "when I'm 3, I will be big like Zoe, and I can do like 'dis in the swing"? Then you threw your head back as far as she could. :) You can't wait until your birthday again... But I don't want my little 2 year old to grow up! Thanks for brightening every single one of my days.
