Adelyn's 3 Year Checkup

3 Years old... Really? What a huge blessing Adelyn is to us. I could go on and on about her funny quotes and sweet hugs, snuggles and kisses but for now I will just update her stats. She is growing so big and strong and we praise the Lord for her health. She is really in to Doc McStuffins right now so she loved her 3 year checkup and the fact that she wasn't due for any shots!

Height: 38.75 Inches
Weight: 37 lbs
I am pretty sure she was in the 90%. (So different from her sis :))

The Big Move

So recently we moved from Brier Creek to Wake Forest... Middle of August to be exact. We had been trying to sell our sweet two bedroom town home for 2 years off an on with no success. Once we had Eva Grace she was sleeping in our bedroom and we decided it was time to try again once she was out of the newborn stage. I could not picture myself preparing a home for showings with Adelyn and a 4 month old...but somehow we did it and our house was on the market for only a week I think. We had a ton of showings that one week and I remember for one showing taking all of the dirty dishes and other random things and throwing them in a tote bag in our car. It was craziness but we were so thankful it happened so quick that time. We spent the next few weeks packing and house hunting. We looked  a few homes and THEN we saw our home in Heritage. We fell in love but tried not to get our hopes up. We looked at a few others houses to be sure this was the one. We made an offer and the Lord just smoothed out all of the little details. We were so excited but it didn't feel real yet that we would be moving our little family out of the first place that we had come home to after our honeymoon, Adelyn's first home, Eva's first home...so many memories. Both of our closings were on the same day and that went pretty smoothly as well. We praise the Lord for the opportunity to have a house now with a yard...and Eva has her own bedroom. Yay! We are still getting settled in but love it so far.

I didn't anticipate having a hard time with such  a big transition. While I LOVE our new home, I have been going through a big transition. Going from working part time, still adjusting to having 2 kids and moving across town and everything is new. It has been hard but the Lord has carried me through and I know will continue to.

2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Our last morning in brier creek.

 Last bath.

 Jumping in the boxes.

 Packing the truck.

Last picture after packing and cleaning. Sweaty and to say that I had been sobbing would be an understatement.

This picture was taken right after our closing.

Sweet Adelyn on our porch the night we moved in.

Picture of our home the first night.

Daniel and Adelyn feeding the fish in our back yard (the pond is no longer there because of the safety issue).

Daniel mowing our grass for the first time.

I will take more pictures of the inside and post soon.

Eva Grace 6 months

What a big (little) girl.:)

Weight: 14lbs 8 oz
Length:

You are super sweet. You love kisses, snuggles, and eating your toes. You love being with Mommy the best and I'm okay with that. You are starting to become better about letting other people hold you and play with you...more mellow. You love your sissy so much and constantly look for her and watch her. She makes you laugh the most. You love your bouncy seat that's hanging between the kitchen and living room. You can say "dada" and just last night, looked right at Daniel in the kitchen and said, "dada", but I think you are still figuring it out. You love being outside.

- still primarily breast feeding
- won't take a bottle ;) (Eva Diva)
- loving solid foods 2x day
- loving puffs and baby mums (7 months)
- sitting up (really well by 7 months)
- sleeping 8-9 hrs then eating, 7 months 10-11 hours
- teeth: bottom 2, (7 months top right and bottom right 3rd tooth popping through)
- naps well twice a day with paci, blanket and seahorse (stopped taking the dinner time nap at 6 months)
- by 7 months have only had a couple colds and a rash with fever (no ear infections or antibiotics)

Sweet Adelyn

It's been way too long since I have done an update on our sweet Adelyn. She is growing so fast. She will be 3 in October and I can't even believe it. Adelyn has been adjusting well to moving... we moved almost 2 weeks ago and she has been just as happy as a lark. I will post on moving soon. She loves her new room and can't wait for us to paint it PINK. She talks non stop, laughs and is super silly a lot. She makes us laugh all of the time and still loves Eva to death. She wants to be near Eva most of the time. She gets excited when she wakes up in the morning or from naps. She helps with her a lot too. She likes to "help" me change her diapers sometimes and loves talking to her and making her smile. Often she tries to help her roll over and that scares me a little. Thank goodness she doesn't try to pick her up.

Her favorite things:
Books - she loves for you to read to her and pretends to read some on her own too
Snacks - she loves what we call "squeezy fruit" and popcorn
Dress up - if she's not dressing up she always has a skirt on
Stickers, Band aids and Playing with her hair bows:)
Playing doctor - she will ask you to lay on the ground and she will pull out her doctor kit and "check you".
Music and Dancing - still loves her music player. We will be trying out a new dance studio tomorrow here in wake forest for ballet.
Playing chase with Eva- we hold Eva and let her face out and run after Adelyn. Addie loves it and Eva does too. Normally they both squeal the whole time.
Movies - Disney movies, Veggie Tales, Angelina Ballerina
Swimming - she loves swimming, just the other day she used her puddle jumper float and was brave enough and let me let go of her a little
Baking - she loves to help in the kitchen with whatever we are doing
Her new thing is asking why the Lord made the clouds, trees or ___ you name it. Love that she thinks about it often.

Side notes: She is doing well with the potty still. She can go by herself and just needs for us to come wipe her. She still takes a good nap in the afternoon around 1:30 or 2 for 2-3 hours. She goes to bed around 8:30 and wakes up around 7 every morning.

Above all Adelyn is so sweet like it says in the blog post title. She is so quick to give hugs and kisses and to tell you that she loves you. She often says, "Mom (or Dad), you're the best Mom (or Dad) ever!". It never gets old hearing that even if she is being a goof.

Eva Grace 4 months!

Weight: 13lbs
Length: 24in
Head: 16in

Little Eva is 4 months old! Can't believe it. We had her doctors appointment this week. She was 50% for all of her measurements which makes us happy because she was so little in the beginning. Her length jumped from 20% to 50%. The doctor said she looked great and was ready to start solids (probably why she's still waking at night).

The little stinker still isn't quite rolling over but she's so close. When she is on her back she leans all the way over to her side but doesn't quite push all the way over. I don't think she is close going front to back... She just loves to lift her head high and kinda scoots like she's going to crawl! I know that's really far off but somehow she does move forward.

She is still not quite the best sleeper at night. She probably wakes up a couple times at night (still in our bedroom in her crib). She will go about 6 hours at night between feedings. If she wakes up to eat at 5am or later she's ready to be up for the day. She naps pretty well. She is starting to lay down for her naps without crying, if she does cry it doesn't take long. We been laying hr down with her paci and glow worm.

She smiles so easily. Giggles when you make pop noises and silly faces. Loves watching and being around Adelyn all of the time.

Reading to Little Sis AKA "BooBoo"

Adelyn LOVES reading her Bible (praise the Lord). She decided to hop up on the sofa last week and read to Eva Grace on her own. Makes my heart so joyful. Also notice the ballet outfit...so typical.

Looks Uncomfortable

What do you do when your 3 month old insist on sleeping like this in the car? I try to move her head back and she cries and puts it right back in this position.

Out To Eat

It's much easier to go out to eat now that Eva is a little older. We went to Mellow Mushroom in Durham a couple weeks ago. Eva sat happily in her car seat playing with her crinkle book and we enjoyed eating with Miss Adelyn. We walked to the waterfalls after to explore and take some pictures.
