9 Beautiful Months!
We are now in Addie's 9th month and she is growing so fast. She surprises me everyday with things she picks up on. She is so aware of EVERYTHING going on. I guess I forget that she is only 2 1/2 months away from being 1! I love watching her little face when she is trying to figure something out. Here are 2 cute examples that she is smarter than I think at only 9 months.
~The other night Daniel was pushing Addie and her friend Everett around in an empty box that we had kinda like a little race car in our living room. They loved it! Well the next evening D and I were playing with her and she started pushing the box around by herself...well then she grabs her baby doll (that she has recently fallen in love with) and put her in the box and started pushing her around (without us prompting her). So big!
~In the car a couple of days ago Adelyn was so ready to be home and go to sleep and I was trying to distract her. I handed her one of her hair bows. She has only worn hair bows maybe 5 times total. When I handed it to her she took it with both hands and held it on the top of her head! She acted like she was trying to put it in her hair. :)
I really am amazed at all that she learns everyday.
Weight: 19 lbs 11 ounces
Length: 28.5 inches
Head: 18.5 inches (BIG:))
Sleep: 8pm bedtime & sleeps until 6 or 7am, takes 2 naps a day normally 1 1/2-2 hours long (she sometimes still takes a third because we are still transitioning).
Food: 7am nurse, 8am breakfast fruit and grain, 11am lunch veggies & fruit, 3pm nurse, 6pm dinner 2 veggies or mixed meat with veggie & fruit, 8pm nurse.
Finger Foods: she loves chopped up pears, peaches, cheerios and puffs.
New Foods: shredded cheese, yogurt & some plain waffle last Saturday morning :)
We are supposed to start eggs with her this month, but since I have a severe egg allergy we are trying to decide when to start eggs with her. I have made an appointment to meet with my allergist to see what he recommends. The pediatrician recommended to wait until she is 3!!! I just don't know if that is the best thing. So I have made an appointment to meet with my allergist to see what he recommends as well.
Adelyn's Favorite Things: music (she dances every time), being outside, going for walks, swimming, baths, her baby doll, snuggling at bedtime, books, Mickey & Minnie mouse, green beans, saying bye bye to go outside, kisses, Zoe, magazines, balls, opening drawers and pulling everything out, standing up at the toilet (YUCK), dogs, drinking out of the straw when we are out to eat and the beach!
Here she is at 9 months....

We missed you...
Adelyn, you spent your first night away from home last night! Daddy and I missed you soooo much. We let you sleep at Nana and Papa's house since we would be getting up early the next morning for work and we had dinner over there. You were so sweet as you snuggled up with me before we layed you down for the night. You are very comfortable at their house. You nursed for a little bit and then I gave you your paci and seahorse and you were asleep in no time. We left to come home and it just didn't feel the same. Daddy and I layed in bed and talked about you and said how much we missed you. I tossed and turned and had a hard time falling asleep. I told Daddy how it had been almost 18 months since I had been away from you for the night. I wanted to hold you so bad. I called Nana this morning at 7:15am to see how you did and she said you were still ASLEEP! She sent me a message later saying that you slept until 8am! Haha you don't even do that at home. I guess you felt comfortable. It sounds like you did so well on your first night away, big girl. You are getting too big, too quickly.
Here is a picture of you having reading time with Daddy.

4th of July
Forgot to mention our trip to the beach for the 4th. We had a great time even though little girl was getting over being sick. She still enjoyed the pool and beach a little and we even saw a fireworks show from my grandparents country club down there. She looked very festive in her red white and blue dress that her Grandma gave her. The only picture I got of her in her dress though was at church on my cell phone. :( Can't wait until she is old enough for us to take her out on the boat for the fireworks!!!
Playing in the Kitchen
A couple days ago I went to the store to get our regular groceries. I have been wanting to try to make some of Addie's food at home. 1st reason to save money 2nd reason it's so fresh 3rd reason...it's fun! I loved mixing things together...or at least planning things in my head that I want to mix in the future. I really just bought a couple things to start out and see how it went first.
I bought sweet potatoes, summer squash, peaches, apples (and we already had strawberries, blueberries and bananas). I realized when I got home I didn't buy anything green (AND THAT'S HER FAVORITE :)). OOPS. I have a bag of spinach I could steam and puree, but I read something about the nitrates possibly being dangerous, so I might hold off and just go buy some green beans or asparagus. Has anyone tried broccoli? I would imagine it would give her really bad gas?! :)
The peaches came out perfectly. The sweet potatoes worked out really well too, I think I ate too much of it along the way. The summer squash blended really well too and she LOVES that. I mixed the bananas and strawberry together and she really like that too. I know she isn't supposed to have strawberry until 12 months...but we tried it a month ago (being brave) and she has done fine with it. I am so happy about this because of my fear of her getting my multiple food allergies. I tried some of the blueberries, but they didn't seem to be worth the money. They boil down to hardly anything...and then were really runny. I added oatmeal to her blueberry puree.
I saved a bunch of the gerber 2nd stage food plastic containers and have used those to store the food in. I also used the ice cube trays for some of them.
Any tips or fun recipes?

Sick Girl
Last week on Tuesday night we put Addie down at 7pm...we normally try to put her down at 8 but she was so tired. She woke up at 8:30 right when Daniel and I had finally finished making dinner. She was crying and I could tell something was wrong. I felt her head and she felt so warm:( I changed her diaper checked her temp and it was 100. I felt so bad for her. I snuggled with her on the sofa for a while and she started shaking (getting chills)...but when I saw this I was so scared. Later that night her fever reached 102. She was so still and would just stare at me. She only wanted to be held. I had to work the next morning so mom came to the house to watch her. I made her an appointment for that afternoon and took her to the doctor. We found out she had an ear infection in both ears. :( It is so strange because she didn't have any drainage until the day we went to the doctor. I felt so bad because the week before she would touch her ears...but she only did this when she was sleepy and she never was whiney. We got a prescription for an antibiotic and have given her Tylenol when we can tell her ears are bugging her.
Although she has been sick Adelyn has been so wonderful. Other than that first night you really can't even tell she is sick. I can't wait until she feels 100% again. We are so thankful that mom is able to watch her when I am at work...especially on days like that when she doesn't feel her best.
This week Grandma (Daniel's mom) is coming to watch her when I work and we are so excited!
Too Smart
Addie figured out how to open her puffs container with her two bottom teeth. I remember Kellie saying that Zoe used to do the same thing. Maybe she taught her how:)
