24 weeks tomorrow!

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

We will soon begin working more on the nursery... I HOPE :) This week will be a little busy and next week I will be workng a lot, then we will go on vacation with Daniel's family!!! So when we return I am hoping to starting painting the nursery and hopefully getting some furniture started! I am hesitant to pick out the nursery paint color until we have picked out the bedding. For some reason I have had the hardest time picking out bedding. I will post pictures once everything starts coming together.

Little girl is constantly moving and I am starting just to be able to see my stomach move when she moves. :) I have a check up on Thursday of this week.

22 Weeks !

Here I am at 22 weeks... Baby girl is moving all of the time! Daniel can now feel here very easily! I love it!!! (sorry no makeup in these pics)
How your baby's growing:
At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Wow...We are tired!

Here is a list of the things Daniel and I have accomplished over the past 3 days (with a little help:)):

Painted our Bedroom (and completed touch ups)

Moved furniture back into place

Painted our Bathroom (and completed touch ups)

Moved everything back into place

Moved the desk out of the 'nursery'

Moved the bookshelf out of the 'nursery'

Worked on the Baby Registry with Mom

Finally found a Baby Shower Date with Mom for our family shower:)

Went to Symphony in the Park at Cary's Koka Booth Amp. with my grandparents!

Tried to make final decisions on the Crib and Baby Dresser

Hung Curtains in our bathroom (and finally a toilet paper holder :))

Cleaned out the nursery closet and linen closet

Went to Mom and Dad's Storage to get the Craddle that we are using

Made a trip to BJs

Decided on and purchased the Upholstery to recover my great grandmothers loveseat

Purchased new foam for for the coushions for the loveseat

Took these items to the reupholstery store

Oil Change

Ugh... I feel like there is more... But I guess it was enough because I was having pains today in my side and so I had to make a trip to the doctor. He said it wasn't anything harmful to the baby and that it was just muscle or tendon pain, he said that I had just over done it and needed to take it easy. :)
Daniel has been an absolute trooper through all of this work around the house... he has been such a big help and hard worker... Love love love that about him.

New Bedroom Color :) I will post more pictures once our bedroom is clean!

21 Weeks!

21 Weeks!!!

I tried to take a belly pic at the mountains this weekend and I feel like it looks bigger than I really am (maybe it's the dress and jacket). :) The second pic is a little better. Daniel and I are doing really well. We have been working on painting our bedroom and bathroom this week/weekend. This is something we have been wanting to complete for a while and we know it won't get completed after little baby girl gets here. I love working on this because I know it means we are one step away from really starting on the nursery (painting & furniture). I will post pictures soon of the changes.

James 1:17

17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
This is the day Daniel and I found out we were having a little girl. The ultrasound tech began the ultrasound, and as soon as our little girl was in view, she was on top of her head with her body curled over on top of her. She must like that position because by the time she moved around some and we were done with the ultrasound she was back in that same position. I am guessing she will be a gymnist. Ha... She was beautiful. As you can see from the pictures below we got a great profile shot. I look at that picture all of the time. The tech was able to get great views of her heart, she wouldn't cooperate at first and we thought we may have to come back, but eventually she was able to see all 4 chambers of her heart and got the measurements they needed of her head and got to see her other vital organs. It was amazing watching her heart work so well. I think Daniel and I were both just in awe of everything. I know Daniel was hoping our first would be a boy... so as soon as we were out of the ultrasound room and waiting to go back to see the doctor, I looked at him and started to cry and asked..."Are you so sad?" He was gleaming from ear to ear and said "NO, not at all... I am excited to have a little Lauren." After that I was fully excited! :) We cannot wait to see our little girl... but before then the Lord is still preparing our hearts, our relationship and well our home for a little one. I feel as though I still have so much to learn about being a wife and homemaker and now here we are about to welcome this baby girl into our family. We couldn't be more excited but also feel the weight of responsibility. We are praying that the Lord continues to grow us as we learn A LOT through this experience.
